Lamella clarifier is also called lamella settling tank, lamella separator or inclined plate settler, is a type of sedimentation tank designed to remove particulates from liquids. Lamella clarifier is often used in primary water treatment in place of conventional settling tanks. Unlike conventional sedimentation tank lamella clarifier uses a series of inclined plates. These inclined plates provide a large effective settling area for a small footprint.

Comparing to the lamella clarifier for Asian market, this lamella clarifier owns a central water accessing chamber. Feeding water from pump firstly access into this central chamber, and flows downwards. Heavy solids in wastewater will be primarily purified in this process. Then water flows to lamella pack through its side, not from its bottom, and then flows upwards to do the secondary purification.

Solid particles begin to settle on the plates and begin to accumulate in collection hoppers at the bottom of the clarifier unit. The sludge is drawn off at the bottom of the hoppers and the clarified liquid exits the unit at the top over a weir.
