Dissolved air flotation clarifier is a cost-effective alternative to sedimentation clarification processes, specially designed for high TSS wastewater, oily wastewater as well effluents from paper, sugar, dairy, food, textile industries and tanneries.

Dissolved air flotation clarifier is composed of flotation tank, water feeding pump, air dissolving pump, air compressor, air dissolving tank, chemical dosing system and a spiral scoop for collection and removal of floated scum. The water inlet, water outlet and scum outlet are contained in the central rotating section. This section and the spiral scoop rotate around flotation tank rim at a speed synchronized with the flow(once every 3-5 minutes or less).

Dissolved air flotation clarifier is operated in the recycle flow pressurization mode where a portion of clarified effluent is continuously recycled from the purified water tank to air dissolving tank into which compressed air is also introduced. This process saturates pressurized effluent water with air under pressure.

Then the recycled air-saturated effluent water is mixed with the influent flow just before the inlet to the distribution duct that moves with the same velocity, and then is released to flotation tank. Thus immediately resulting in the recycled effluent water become supersaturated with air as millions of tiny bubbles form.

These bubbles attach to, and form within, the solids or chemical flocculants entering the vessel, causing them to float to the surface where they are retained and form a concentrated sludge blanket.

The spiral scoop takes up the floated sludge(scum), pouring it into the stationary center section where it is discharged by gravity. Wiper blades attached to the moving distribution duct scrape the bottom and the side of flotation tank and discharge settled sludge into the built-in sump for periodic discharging.

Clarified water is collected by extraction pipes, which are attached to the moving center section.
Part of the clarified water is recycled to air dissolving tank to generate air-saturated water, most part of the clarified water is discharged or go to the next treatment process.
